Is Blood Thicker Than Water?

Hellooooo, people. Y’all have heard the saying, blood is thicker than water. Usually said by people when they wanna say that family ties are the strongest. But, this is something which people shortened up and when you take a few pieces away from something, it doesn’t remain the same, right? The original saying is: Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb.  Meaning, the family you choose  is stronger than the one you’re born to. A question arose in my mind today. Has been there for a long time. But, I think I can put it out in the world, ‘cause the fear of “If I say it out loud, it’ll become real” is gone. Everything in my head which has been there for a very long time isn’t going to become any less real with time. Might as well put it out for all of you to have a look and inspect with naked eyes or the best microscope. Either you might relate or you’d get a new perspective. The question is: If you could choose which version of that saying should be true for you,...

How Many Feelings Can You Name?

Hellooooo, people. Let’s talk about the minute feelings which haven't been given a single word yet to describe them fully. Let’s put them somewhere. Let me write and make you feel that if you relate to this in any way, you’re not alone.  There are a lot of feelings in this world and yet the first ones which come to our minds are: Happiness, sadness, anger, satisfaction, anxiety, awkwardness, calm, confusion, pain, fear, relief, romance, surprise, excitement. Even the ones I just mentioned weren’t the ones you remembered immediately.  i’m right, ain’t i? We all have experienced those moments where when even we have someone who would listen to us and understand, we go like, “I don’t know how to express.” or “I don’t have words to tell you what I’m feeling.” There should have been more words. More sentences. no more feelings though; ain’t we already so filled of them? or is it just me being an extreme empath, feeling my emotions as well as of everyone else’s around me? Imagine th...

Confused Mixture Of Creativity And Love

Hellooooo, people. This is the kind of blog which comes under the category i-know-what-i-am-going-to-write-about type. Before that, it's 4k+ views on this Unwinding Heart blog. So, congratulations to y'all and me.  ofcourse, i'll congratulate you, afterall it's you who read special thanks to the people who come back to my write-ups 'cause they've their 'favourites' here The thought I've come up with, has been revolving in my head for more than weeks now and I've absolutely no idea if it's just a rare one or you all have thought about it some or the other time. There is a quote which goes along the lines that if an artist falls in love with you, they make you immortal. Through their art. I second to that. I've already made a few people immortal in my art and probably in your eyes too. still too many to make Has anyone ever thought about the person who becomes immortal? From their point of view? I was thinking about that. And, damn. The w...

Do We Know Our Normal?

Hellooooo, people. Today's topic is the word incomplete. yes, i made a whole topic out of that single word Let's just take a moment to simply breathe. Inhale. Hold. Five, four, three, two, one. Exhale. hasn't it been a long time since you took a minute just to breathe? I had the last three days very unproductive. Didn't do anything at all even though I had a long list of the things I had to. This is the night of the third day. I just spent a good long minute to analyze how many works I've to do and one of the realizations is: everything in this list is something I'd started and was left incomplete due to some xyz reason. There's not even a single thing which needed a fresh start. no idea whether you relate to this or not Another realization is: this list is more or less same as it was a week before or even a month before.  It just hit me that even if the situations of my life went in different directions, I still have the more or less same/similar things to ...

How Much Is Validation Important?

Hellooooo, people. It has been an adventure for the last few months and omg, the level of fun, nervousness, fear, pain, happiness and numerous other feelings was insane. "A library is never complete. That's the joy of it. We are always seeking one more book to add to our collection." ~ Catherynne M. Valente This quote feels like it's not just about the library. It's about us too. Think about it, are you complete? What would you need to be complete? And then, imagine yourself at that stage, are you sure you'll then think you're complete? Whenever I have a topic to write on, I gather all the feelings associated with it and the pile never feels complete. The way you feel "One more chapter" for an interesting novel, "One more episode" for a series you're watching and "five more minutes" for a conversation with your favourite person; the same way, I feel for the topic I am on: "One more thought" or "one more pers...

What Are We Suffering From, Exactly?

Hellooooo, people. "He who fears he shall suffer, already suffers from what he fears." ~Michel De Montaigne I especially sat down to find this quote to put here because I had a moment yesterday where I felt this. I remember reading a lot of quotes, watching scenes, images from my imagination while reading novels and glances of flashbacks of the people I've had encounters with.  you might too, a few if not a lot One of the most mesmerising things about art -- writings, plays, poems, stories, movies, series, music and so on -- is that when you don't find the words to express what you're feeling, you subconsciously -- or intentionally -- go to art.  You turn to art and put your finger on things which feel similar to your emotions to say ' this is what I want to express. ' I asked a few people to give me their views on this quote and damn, they had nothing . I was looking forward to pick out examples which match to the ones I had in my mind. But I did get some...

How Do You Measure The Weight Of Gestures?

Hellooooo, people. First of all, I'M LATE!  sowwie, even if you don't mind me being late 'cause I was super stressed for n number of reasons, had six consecutive nights of nightmares followed by the worst set of exams I've ever taken, which was followed by physical illness; and all of this alongside handling some other issues Let me tell you what just happened first. That's the motivation for today's topic. I came to the library today a little before time and I was like ' wow, I'm so early '. The temperature which was above the forties for days, it came down to thirty. I got a seat on the bus and the guard uncles -- one at the main gate and the other at the library entry -- talked to me; which is rare for me . So, all good, right? this has been the only best for a few days I entered the library. The person who sits there said just wait a few minutes, it's not nine yet. I started to turn when the sweeper uncle said, is it time yet? -- pointing tow...

Are We Trapped By Our Minds?

Hellooooo, people. "When you're born in a burning house, you think the whole world is on fire. But it's not." ~ Richard Kadrey,  Aloha from Hell   First of all, how much beauty people put in their sentences is one of the things I can't stop appreciating.  look at this quote, damn Let's talk about this quote. There are a lot of ways people grasp a certain line. I'll tell you mine for this one. What I thought of after reading this quote is: When we're in a terrible situation, we tend to stop looking the other way around. If your house is burning, what are you supposed to do? Look for how to extinguish the fire, maybe. Or run for the exit. Or if the door is closed, try to break it. Or if it doesn't get opened still, call out for help through the window. You can think of ten more solutions in this moment. But, when we would actually be in a burning house, we would run out of options. We don't have as many solutions in that moment as we would have r...

Why Am I Not Doing What I Want To?

Hellooooo, people. Have you ever said that you'd exercise and you just have to start it this Monday but Friday comes and you're like: Next Monday, for sure? Have you been in a situation where you know it in your heart that if you don't do this particular thing for atleast two hours a day, it's gonna create a lot of mess in near future? But, you still don't seem to take out those two hours, even when you're not so busy? Do you have anything in your mind right now that you know you should have been doing for these many days but you just ain't? A possible answer? Your reason isn't strong enough to lit a fire inside you. This is one of those few write-ups which got its title before I said Hello. That's rare. As always, I thought I didn't have anything to write on but as usual, I realised I had a lot and I just couldn't pick one. Because of that and a few other reasons, I was delaying this write-up but apparently my image of being consistent with ...

Everything Is So Filled With Feelings

The way everything is filled with feelings, I just can not get over it. Ever. Helloooooo, people. I was reading a novel to annotate it for a friend -- doing it for the first time .  (Special Hello to you; you who is going to get this annotated novel by me) I'll not get into the details of what ways I'm annotating it, because, you know, it's a secret. (yeah, surprise for you, miss) While I was writing a comment on one of the lines, a thought hit me, which became the inspiration for this write-up. The thought was, how just a few words on a paper written by one person for another become so special. How they ain't just curved lines in form of letters. They're so much more than that. Just think about it. You're given a book in which someone wrote what they felt on a particular line, underlined the lines they liked, made hearts and smileys at places and legit kept a part of themselves in the book for you to see. Like, DAMN . If you don't relate to the book stuff, ...

Do You Have Control On Your Tears?

"When someone is crying, of course, the noble thing to do is to comfort them. But if someone is trying to hide their tears, it may also be noble to pretend you do not notice them." ~ Lemony Snicket I read this so long ago but it's stuck somewhere in my mind. So, let me speak on it so that I can focus on some other stucked things. This quote. What is it about? People showing and hiding their tears. People noticing and ignoring the same. Doing the good and bad. Doing the right and wrong. I don't think there's much to say on this because the quote speaks loud itself. But it does remind me of something and that is something to speak about. Ready for a lil' story? Here you go.  I was 8 years old. It was a PT period -- or say, activities period -- in which we, students, were playing something. I was running while some other kid was chasing me -- he would touch me and I lose, that was the game -- and me not being sporty at all, wasn't used to running and I fell....

Do You Believe In Their Appreciation?

Helloooooo, people. You know? I read one of my write-ups just now and damn.  oops, from the start Actually, I was having this one word conversation with a friend with whom I'm used to these wonderful conversations. At a point, I just wanted to say something to cheer him up. I didn't have anything to "say" exactly because I already knew what he would say and I wouldn't be able to debate because apparently, I agree already.  that's the thing with the people you know; you know their whole situation and you know where you both are stuck in a conversation; you say this, they say that and it all comes down to that one point where you started from So, I knew that nothing I say would really be effective right now. Afterall, there are conversations which you save for later, to get done on call and not over chat. And at this point, where the one word conversation was going to turn into complete silence -- which would suck for both of us -- I asked him if he wants to go ...
